Traditional Cuban Son

Son is a style of song and dance from eastern Cuba specifically from the province of "Santiago de Cuba". From the thirties of the twentieth century this peculiar rhythm achieved an international projection. This rhythm combines the structure and characteristics of Spanish music with Afro-Cuban musical elements and instruments having as its main base the Danzón, national dance of Cuba. The Son is an elegant and proud dance which is danced with an upright posture and with a typical cadence of the five-pair dances. The Cuban Son is one of the most influential genres of Latin American music and thanks to this have generated different Latin American rhythms such as Salsa, Bachata, among others.
